Mark Roberts

Mark Roberts is a seasoned professional in the field of intellectual property law, currently serving as a Council Member at the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA) since May 2025 and as a Principal at Spruson & Ferguson since May 2023. With extensive experience as a Guest Lecturer in Patent Law at the University of Melbourne since 2007, Mark has also worked as a Consultant at Davies Collison Cave Pty Ltd from November 2022 to May 2023 and held a long tenure as Principal and Patent Attorney at Davies Collison Cave from January 1994 to November 2022. Previous roles include Councillor and Treasurer for FICPI Australia from July 2006 to August 2019 and Patent Attorney at GlaxoWellcome in 1998-1999. Mark holds degrees in B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry and Pharmacology from the University of Melbourne and is a Registered Patent and Trade Marks Attorney in Australia and New Zealand, having completed advanced training through the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Trans Tasman IP Attorneys Board.
