Ian Whitmore is an experienced Applications Development Scientist at SPT Labtech, specializing in protocols for the firefly liquid handling robot since February 2023. Previously, Ian served as an Advanced Research Assistant at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, where responsibilities included managing the Chromium 10X Single Cell library prep pipeline and providing tailored solutions for next-generation sequencing. Ian's extensive background also includes roles as a Scientific Officer at the Institute of Cancer Research, a Forensic DNA Analyst at LGC Forensics, and various positions at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Forensic Science Service. Ian holds a First Class Honours degree in Human Biology from Loughborough University.
