Ryan Shaening Pokrasso has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as the Founder of SPZ Legal, a firm providing legal and strategic consulting to entrepreneurs. Ryan takes a personalized approach to understanding each entrepreneur's ideas and goals.
Ryan then joined the Social Enterprise Alliance, Bay Area Chapter as a Member of the Board of Directors. This organization supports and advocates for social enterprises nationwide.
Prior to that, they served as an Attorney and Founder at Elevate Law and Strategy and as a CROWN Attorney Fellow at the Sonoma County Counsel's Office.
Ryan also has experience in the social justice field, working as the Social Justice Student Network Coordinator at the Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social Justice and as the Founder and Clinic Co-Director of the Students for Economic and Environmental Justice - Environmental Justice Workshop.
Additionally, they contributed their expertise as a Judiciary Committee Law Clerk for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, where they assisted with legislative research and drafting of briefing memoranda and speeches.
Their legal experience includes serving as a Law Clerk at Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger LLP, where they conducted legal research and assisted in litigation preparation.
Ryan's passion for international development led him to work as a Summer Law Fellow at Accountability Counsel, conducting research on complaints offices of public international financial institutions.
Early in their career, they served as the Program Director at New Energy Economy, where they authored and lobbied for the NM Green Jobs Act.
Ryan Shaening Pokrasso obtained a J.D. degree in Law from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they received a B.S. degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, from 2003 to 2007. Ryan also holds a Certificate of Specialization in Environmental Law from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, obtained in 2013.
