Sumit Saha has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Data Science Intern at SquadStack from December 2019 to June 2020. During this time, they were involved in various projects related to boosting the performance of machine learning algorithms for funnel conversion of leads. Sumit developed data preprocessing and feature engineering strategies, trained ML algorithms, and evaluated models for interpretability and explainability. Sumit also developed a scraping engine for structured information extraction and gained knowledge in NLP and feature extraction using various techniques and libraries.
After their internship, Sumit worked as a Technical Writer in the field of Data Science and MLOps at Neptune.ai from July 2021 onwards. Following this, they joined Saturn Cloud as a Technical Writer in November 2022, contributing to the documentation and communication aspects of data science and MLOps.
Prior to their roles in Data Science, Sumit served as a Summer Intern at PwC India in 2019, where they conducted VAPT testing of Android applications, prepared documentation on AI applications in cyber defense, and collaborated with stakeholders for a cybersecurity overhaul project. Additionally, they worked as a Student Software Engineer at the University of Florida from December 2017 to August 2018.
Overall, Sumit has gained experience in data science, machine learning, technical writing, cybersecurity, and software engineering throughout their career.
Sumit Saha attended Vellore Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2020, where they pursued a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science and Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Sumit has obtained various certifications in different fields. Notably, in October 2018, they completed a course on Machine Learning from Stanford University. Furthermore, in November 2018, they completed a Deep Learning Specialization from deeplearning.ai. Sumit also obtained certifications in AI From the Data Center to the Edge – An Optimized Path Using Intel Architecture from Intel Corporation in August 2019, and TensorFlow in Practice Specialization from deeplearning.ai in July 2020. Additionally, they acquired certifications in Data Structures & Algorithms in Python from Coding Ninjas India, Julia Scientific Programming from the University of Cape Town, and Time Series Analysis in Python from DataCamp, all in May 2020. Sumit'smost recent certifications were in Fundamentals of Reinforcement Learning and Sample-based Learning Methods, both obtained from the University of Alberta in March and April 2022, respectively.
