Girish Bakhru

Girish Bakhru has extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles. Girish is currently serving as the Vice President of Engineering at SquareTrade since October 2020. Prior to this, Girish worked at Target as the Senior Director of Engineering from May 2015 to October 2020, where they led the software engineering team and played a crucial role in integrating Consensus Corp into the Target Technology organization.

Before joining Target, Girish held the position of Director of Engineering at Stubhub/EBAY from December 2008 to 2015. In this role, they oversaw a team of 50+ software engineers and was responsible for leading a major re-platforming effort.

Girish also worked as a Sr. Engineering Manager at Hotwire from November 2007 to December 2008, leading a team of 12 software engineers. Their responsibilities included software development, project management, and post-production support.

Earlier in their career, Girish served as the Director of Engineering at pay by touch from January 2005 to November 2007, and as a Sr. Enterprise Architect at Convergys, Inc from January 1999 to January 2005. At Convergys, they designed and implemented various software products for workflow management, enterprise application integration, and customer and order management in the telecommunications industry.

Girish Bakhru attended Lawrence University from 1990 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.
