David T. Bessey is vice president of business development for SRC, Inc.

In his current role, Bessey is responsible for directing the corporate business development team and setting policy for all related activities. He leads a team of market analysts, proposal management and business development professionals focused on developing new opportunities for SRC’s industry leading systems, products and services with new customers, while maintaining established relationships with existing customers.

Bessey is a proven leader with over 30 years of management, business development and engineering experience for a diverse set of products and services for US and international defense customers. Throughout his career, he has been involved with all facets of business development activities – ranging from developing technologies, establishing strategies, directing proposal efforts, and supporting business area operations. He is dedicated to supporting the company’s growth and commitment to remaining one of the nation’s leading suppliers of unique solutions of national significance.

Bessey is an Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International member and on the board of directors for the Northern New York Fort Drum Chapter of the Association of the US Army. In April 2015, he was inducted into the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated the highest standards of integrity and moral character, displayed an outstanding degree of professional competence, served the US Army or USMC Field Artillery with selflessness, and contributed to the promotion of the Field Artillery in ways that stand out. Bessey holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a bachelor’s degree in physics, with a minor concentration in computer science from Syracuse University.
