Peter Dirks

Peter Dirks is a highly skilled Transportation Policy & Studies Engineer II currently working at SRF Consulting Group since February 2023. Previously, Peter served as a Planner II for Cook County Government from September 2019 to August 2022, where contributions included the development of Cook County's first bicycle plan, the creation of innovative tools for analyzing access to parks and trails, and the establishment of a County-wide bike and pedestrian counting program. Peter's experience also encompasses roles as a Research Engineer and Undergraduate Research Assistant at Minnesota Traffic Observatory from October 2015 to September 2019, focusing on traffic data collection and analysis, and managing student workers. Early career experience includes an internship with the City of Minneapolis, where foundational surveying skills were acquired. Peter holds a Master's degree in Transportation Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, both from the University of Minnesota.
