Karan Sikka

Karan Sikka is a Senior Computer Vision Scientist at SRI International, where employment began in September 2016, following a previous role as Computer Vision Scientist. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Machine Perception Labs at UC San Diego from September 2010 to September 2016, and as a Student Associate in the Vision and Learning group at SRI International for a brief period in early 2016. Karan Sikka completed an interim internship in augmented reality at Qualcomm during summer 2011, focusing on object recognition. Earlier experience also includes a summer internship at RWTH Aachen University working on ultrasound image segmentation. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego (2010-2016) and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (2006-2010).
