Narinder Kumar Mehra

Dr N.K Mehra is an internationally acclaimed expert in the area of Transplant Immunology and Clinical Immunogenetics, and is credited with establishing this specialty for the first time in India.

With over 4 decades of experience, he is the former Dean (Res) and national chair of AIIMS and alma mater of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle and AIIMS, Delhi. Currently, he holds the honorary position of Emeritus scientist of ICMR and is the founding President of the Federation of Immunological Societies of Asia Oceania (FIMSA).

Professor Mehra has published more than 480 research papers in leading international journals and has also received over 100 awards, including Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards for his contributions to Medical Sciences in 1992, and Chevalier of the National Order of Merit in 2003.
