Thord Thorslund

Thord Thorslund has extensive experience in the steel industry, currently serving as Director of Supply, Operations, and Product Development at SSAB since February 2000. In this role, Thord oversees supply and sourcing, operations follow-up and support, as well as product development within SSAB Services. Previous positions include Director of the Knowledge Service Center, where Thord managed technical expert teams and supported R&D projects, and Director of Global Supply Chain, responsible for sales and operations planning across business areas. Thord also held roles such as Vice President of SSAB Plate and SSAB EMEA, Unit Head of a rolling mill, and Project Manager for a facility startup in China. Earlier experience includes production management at Avesta Sheffield AB. Thord holds a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Material and Construction from Uppsala University.
