Julie McCarthy

Julie McCarthy is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in charity management and policy development. Currently serving as the Director of Volunteer Operations for SSAFA the Armed Forces charity since June 2017, McCarthy previously held leadership roles including Head of Transformation and Head of Welfare Policy at Blind Veterans UK from September 2015 to June 2017. Additional experience includes being the Head of Policy, Research and Communications at Working Families, and Chief Executive of the Army Families Federation, where responsibilities encompassed policy management, financial oversight, and strategic governance. With earlier roles as Training Manager at IRIS Software Group and Managing Director at Wellington Computer Services Ltd, McCarthy's background also includes voluntary contributions to multiple organizations, demonstrating a commitment to community support and advocacy. Julie McCarthy holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Information Systems Management from the Royal Military College of Science.
