Mike Laking

Mike Laking is an accomplished technology professional with extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as Head of Technology Platforms at SSE Enterprise since January 2020, Mike previously held several key roles at SSE plc from January 2004 to January 2020, including Programme Director for the SMART Metering Programme, where responsibilities included managing the SMETSv2 SMART meter system delivery. Additional roles at SSE plc encompassed Project Director for Home & Essential Services, Digital Project Director for retail digital offerings, and Business-to-Business Project Director overseeing various projects such as Data Analytics and Microsoft CRM solutions. Mike's career began as a Development Manager and progressed to I.T Programme Manager, where Mike successfully delivered the SMART SMETSv1 systems on the Oracle MDM platform.
