Candice Watson

Candice Watson, CEng MIMechE, currently serves as an Onshore Wind Mechanical Engineer at SSE Renewables since February 2023. Prior to this role, Candice held the position of Mechanical Engineer at EMEC: European Marine Energy Centre from November 2021 to January 2023, focusing on wave and tidal energy projects. Candice's extensive experience at bp from March 2009 to November 2020 includes roles such as GCC Mechanical Engineer III, Operations Representative (FPSO), Discipline Mechanical Engineer, Area Mechanical Engineer, and Mechanical Engineer Graduate, contributing to safety culture, digital tool implementation, and technical support across multiple regions including the North Sea and Trinidad and Tobago. Additionally, Candice began the professional journey as a Mechanical Engineering Graduate at Methanex Corporation. Academically, Candice holds a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and a Master’s degree in Reliability Engineering and Asset Management from The University of Manchester, alongside a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
