David Malcolm

David Malcolm is an experienced Offshore Engineering Manager specializing in mechanical engineering within the renewable energy sector. Currently leading the Mechanical Team at SSE Renewables since December 2021, David supports offshore wind projects and operating sites. Previously, as Offshore Wind Turbine Technical Authority for Red Rock Power, David contributed to key technical specifications and LCOE improvement projects for the Inch Cape offshore wind farm. David held various positions at SgurrEnergy, including Principal Mechanical Engineer, where leadership and consultancy assignments in offshore wind were central. Additionally, David's early career included significant roles at DuPont and ICI Polyester, focusing on project management and performance improvement. David holds an MSc with Distinction in Renewable Energy Development from Heriot-Watt University and an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham.
