John Mullen

John Mullen is an experienced Procurement & Commercial Manager at SSE Renewables, where responsibilities include overseeing procurement and commercial aspects of the Renewables business unit since July 2010. With a robust background in various offshore, wind, wave, and tidal projects, as well as onshore windfarm projects and thermal energy projects, Mullen has managed activities from Environmental Impact Assessment through to operational generation. Prior professional roles include Quantity Surveyor positions at Doig + Smith, Thomson Bethune, Pride Management Ltd, and Sir Robert McAlpine, as well as experience as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor/Project Manager with Muirhead Beard Dove and as a Student Quantity Surveyor with John Laing (Scotland) Ltd. Mullen holds a Master of Science in Construction Management from Glasgow Caledonian University and a Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying from Abertay University.
