Kenny Dempster

Kenny Dempster is the Head of Engineering (Civil, Structural & Mechanical) at SSE Renewables, a position held since August 1996, where responsibilities include overseeing the design authority process and managing engineering risks across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects totaling over 8.5GW. Previous roles at SSE include Generation Civil Asset Manager, focused on asset management for critical civil structures, and Civil Asset Manager (Hydro), responsible for policy development and inspection processes of high consequence assets. Early in the career at SSE, Kenny Dempster served as Reservoir Safety Engineer and Civil Project Engineer, emphasizing inspections and project executions related to hydro generation infrastructure. Prior experience includes a role as a Civil Engineer at Mott MacDonald from September 1987 to July 1996. Kenny Dempster holds a Master’s degree in Water Engineering and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Strathclyde.
