Paul Swan

Paul Swan has a solid work experience in the energy transmission industry. Paul started their career as a Graduate Engineer at SSE plc in August 2009 and worked in this role until August 2011. Following this, they became a Transmission Engineer at SSE plc, where they were involved in power system analysis and coordinating outages for the Transmission network. Paul also served as a Senior Authorised Person for Transmission at voltages ranging from LV to 400kV. In May 2014, they transitioned to the role of a Transmission Control and Analysis Engineer at SSE plc, which they held until June 2015.

Since June 2015, Paul Swan has been working at SSEN Transmission as the Lead Transmission Control Engineer on shift. In this role, they have taken on the responsibility for the overall control and safety of the company's Electricity Transmission network. Paul carries out safety switching and document issue liaising with SAPs (Senior Authorised Persons).

Overall, Paul Swan has developed extensive expertise in transmission control, power system analysis, outage coordination, and operational switching.

Paul Swan attended Edinburgh Napier University from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
