Phil Devine is an experienced technical manager currently leading the Eastern Portfolio at SSEN Transmission since February 2022. Previously, Phil served as HVDC General Manager at PSC - Power Systems Consultants from August 2020 to April 2023, and as HVDC Chief Engineer & Interconnectors Team Lead at WSP in the UK from March 2016 to August 2020, specializing in independent technical advice for HVDC electricity transmission. Phil's background includes extensive roles at Alstom Grid, where responsibilities ranged from managing a Valve Test Facility project to overseeing a team of over 100 engineers developing HVDC control systems. Additional experience includes teaching electrical principles as a lecturer at Stafford College and various engineering positions at TRW, Gothic Crellon, and ALSTOM. Phil holds a BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Staffordshire.
