Mattias Roos

Mattias Roos is the President & CEO of SSM. Mattias has held this position since January 2020. Prior to that, they were the VD, CEO of SSM Holding AB from January 2013 to January 2020.

Roos started at SSM when it was just a small company with a couple of projects and 10 employees in 2012. In just a few years, they managed to develop the company to become one of the leading residential development companies in Stockholm, Sweden. This development was based on the, at that time, "unic" idea of delivering affordable housing to the urbanites of tomorrow. With numerous acquired, developed, sold and built apartments and projects, they had almost 100 employees in the beginning of 2017. They reached the peak development of the company Q1 2017, at the same time as the company was listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm Stock Exchange, valued at almost 2 billion sek pree money.

Later in 2017, the market changed mainly as an effect of new amortization regulation which affected their customer segment ability to finance their purchase. Sales dropped fast and they struggled to start new projects due to the low sales rate. They were swift to analyze the consequences and changed their product based on the new and different conditions for their customers, resulting in smaller apartments and a bigger focus on developing more rental apartments than owner associations. This and an uncertainty regarding long term and project financing put pressure on the business.

Mattias Roos attended KTH Royal Institute of Technology where they received a 180 p Civilingenjör VoV in the field of Byggadets organisation och ekonomi. Mattias also has a Bachelor's degree from Högskolan Gävle SAndviken in Husbyggnads och Anläggningsteknik.
