Amy Belote has a diverse work experience. Amy started their career as an Administrator at The Summer Science Program in March 2011 and progressed to the role of Operations Director in August 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President Operations. Apart from their work at The Summer Science Program, Amy also served as a Managing Partner at BAWNA Logistics from April 2017 to September 2022.
Amy Belote attended the University of Mary Washington from 1989 to 1993 where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Amy later pursued further education at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health from 1995 to 1997 and obtained a Master of Health Science degree in the field of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

The Summer Science Program
The Summer Science Program is an independent nonprofit operating residential programs in experimental science research for gifted teenagers, on several college campuses. Each program is an immersion into experimental science, designed to challenge and inspire talented rising seniors from around the world. Working in teams of three, participants complete a research project from beginning to end: either in Astrophysics – near-earth asteroid imaging and orbit determination – or Biochemistry – fungal enzyme inhibition and drug discovery. Each team acquires its own original data and performs its own analysis. Field trips and guest speakers round out an intense 39-day schedule. Info and application at summerscience.org. Alumni and former faculty from every SSP program since 1959 are voting members for life, making SSP the only summer program governed, operated, and largely funded by people who directly experienced it themselves … powerful testimony to its impact.
