Elias Mutua

Elias Mutua has a strong background in teaching and educational leadership. ELIAS began their career at Church Army Africa, where they served as the Deputy Head Teacher and ICT Integrator. During this time, they developed collaboration and interpersonal skills while leading a team of 35 teaching staff. ELIAS also served as the Chairman of the Church Army Welfare Association, where they were recognized for promoting transparency in the management of Welfare Funds.

In 2015, Elias joined St. Austin's Academy as a Teacher of Mathematics and later became the Head Maths - Prep. Their passion for mathematics was evident, as students considered it their booster subject and saw improvement in their mean grades.

From 2018 to 2022, Elias worked at Rusinga Schools, first as a Teacher of Computing/ICT Champion/Extra Co-curricular Coordinator, and then as a Teacher of Mathematics/ICT. ELIAS displayed confidence in teaching computing and emphasized developing students' creativity, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills.

Currently, Elias is the Head of Computing at St. Andrew's School, Turi.

Elias Mutua's education history begins with their enrollment at Egoji Teachers Training College from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a Primary Teacher Certificate in Education. Following this, they attended Nairobi Technical Training Institute from 2005 to 2006, earning a Certificate of Computerized Manager in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services. In 2009, Elias pursued a Bachelor of Education degree at Kenyatta University, with a focus on Mathematics and Biology. ELIAS completed this degree in 2014. Afterwards, Elias decided to further their education and pursued a Master of Research and Public Policy (MRPP) degree at Egerton University from 2016 to 2018.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Elias took part in a Summer School course at Heidelberg University in 2017, focusing on Enhancing Academic Qualification in Teaching & Research in Public Health. ELIAS also has additional certifications as a DAAD Scholar, although specific details about this certification are not available.
