Poppy Lea has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2015 as a private English tutor while interning for Philip Hawkes. In 2016, they interned at Balzac REIM, where they handled various tasks, including translating documents and corresponding with clients. Poppy then worked as an interior designer at PERCY BASS LIMITED from 2017 to 2019. In 2019, they held roles as a design project manager at Silverleaf Academy and as an office and events assistant at Tada & Toy. Poppy also worked as a freelance interior designer. From 2020 to 2021, Poppy served as a junior project manager at Clik Events before becoming the social media lead at Silverleaf Academy. Their most recent position is as the head of MFL at St Andrew's School, Turi, overseeing the teaching of foreign languages for secondary school students.

Poppy Lea's education history begins in 2013 when they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Modern Languages and Cultures with a focus on French and Italian from Durham University. During their undergraduate studies, they also participated in a year abroad program at the Università di Pisa in 2016. In the same year, Poppy Lea obtained a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Cambridge. Continuing their education, they pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in MFL at the University of Oxford from 2020 to 2021.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Poppy Lea also holds additional certifications. Poppy obtained the CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in January 2013. Furthermore, they also possess a Full UK Driving License, which they obtained from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in April 2011.
