Mayra Velasco

As Director of Supportive Housing Programs (SHP), Mayra Velasco oversees Transitional Housing Programs (THP), including our Transitional Housing Placement Program for Non-minor Dependents (THPP-NMD), and Beverly Terrace Permanent Supportive Housing Program. Mayra first joined St. Anne’s team in 2013 where she worked directly with the young women in THP as a Family Advocate and then Education Specialist. In these roles she provided hands-on support to young mothers and their children in reaching their goals of independence, educational success and housing stability. Mayra was then promoted to Assistant Director of SHP where she worked to enhance the services offered to the young women living in our Bogen Transitional Housing Program and played a key role in cultivating relationships with external organizations towards the enhancement of services for residents of St. Anne’s. Mayra earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of California, Long Beach.
