St. George's College
St. George's College is a marvellous British School in Lima-Peru on two sites: Primary and Early Years in the bustling Miraflores district and Secondary in peaceful and green Villa on the edge of Lima's only wetlands. A comprehensive day school, it has undergone a tremendous rebirth becoming a school of choice amongst schools of its elevated quality, being the first in Peru to have adopted the whole of the Fieldwork suite of curricula (IEYC, IPC, IMYC) leading into the IBO's Diploma and Careers Programmes (the second school in Peru), the latter having been authorised in October of 2019. Additionally, accreditation was received in May, 2019 for our membership of the world famous Round Square organisation of over 230 top schools worldwide, which seeks to form students' character, teasing out of them skills they never knew they possessed. In 2020, St. George's College was incorporated into the International Schools Partnership (ISP) as the ninth school in South America and the forty-sixth worldwide. This further opens our opportunities for Internationalism in terms of exchanges, conferences, debates, etc. not only in terms of character building, but also academically. ISP provides extensive training opportunities for staff in addition to international certifications. The school places a heavy emphasis on technology with banks of virtual reality hardware for use across the curriculum and STEAM formally included throughout the whole-school timetables. This includes the construction and equipping of a Makerspace on each site, and an Entrepreneurship Laboratory and a semi-professional studio for recording, editing and producing music and video in the Secondary section. The Arts are extremely well catered for with two superb wings each for Music, Dance, Theatre and Plastic Arts in Secondary, while Science and the Arts are equally well catered for in the Junior School.
