Brandi Gehrke has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Brandi is currently working as the Director of Design Technology at St. John's Episcopal School since July 2023. Prior to this, they were a Try Coding Instructor at Turing School of Software & Design from October 2022 to May 2023. From January 2017 to the present, they worked as a Computer Science Instructor at The University of Alabama. Brandi also held the position of Computer Science Instructor at Kode With Klossy from May 2019 to August 2020. In addition, Brandi has experience in education and teaching roles, including being a School Director at Teach For America from March 2018 to August 2018, and a High School Chemistry Teacher at Bergenfield Public School District from September 2014 to January 2017. Brandi also taught Chemistry at Passaic City Public Schools from September 2011 to August 2014. Additionally, Brandi has research experience as an Undergraduate Researcher at The University of Alabama, focusing on nanowires and hydrogel synthesis from June 2010 to May 2011.
Brandi Gehrke completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering at The University of Alabama from 2006 to 2011. Brandi then pursued a teaching certification in Chemistry at Seton Hall University, which they obtained from 2011 to 2012. Brandi continued their education at Seton Hall University and earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Educational Leadership, Management, and Policy from 2013 to 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Brandi Gehrke obtained the QM Teaching Online Certificate from QM Quality Matters in April 2021. Brandi also holds a certification as a Teacher of Chemistry from the State of New Jersey, which they obtained in September 2012.
