Thom Kinney, MEd, SHRM-SCP, has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Thom currently serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer at St. John's Health, where they support over 800 employees. Prior to that, they were an Adjunct Instructor at Central Wyoming College. Thom also held the position of Sr. Manager, Organization Development at DigitalGlobe, where they were responsible for managing organizational development initiatives. In addition, they worked as the Learning & Development Manager at Hach Company, where they designed and implemented leadership development programs. Before that, Thom was the Manager, Corporate Learning & Development at MoneyGram International, where they oversaw corporate training programs. Thom also worked as a Knowledge Management Consultant at Relera and as a Technology Trainer at Office Depot. Thom started their career as an Instructor at The Princeton Review, where they prepared students for standardized tests and provided guidance on college admissions. Throughout their career, Thom has demonstrated strong expertise in HR, learning and development, and instructional design.
Thom Kinney holds a M.Ed. degree in Organizational Development and Human Resources from Colorado State University, where they studied from 2003 to 2005. Thom also earned a BA degree in Communications, Marketing, and Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University from 1989 to 1993. Additionally, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate from the University of St. Thomas in 2010, and a Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning from California State University - East Bay in 2002-2003. Thom Kinney has also obtained several certifications, including SHRM-SCP from SHRM in 2017.
