Whitney Matson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Whitney recently served as the Director of Quality at St. John's Health, where they oversaw quality management and accreditation. Prior to that, they held the position of Quality Manager and Quality and Accreditation Specialist at the same organization. Before joining St. John's Health, Whitney worked as a Continuous Improvement Coach at St. Luke's Health System. Whitney also has a background in operations and quality improvement, having served as the Director of Operations and Director of Quality Improvement at Avalon Hills. In addition, Whitney held the role of Project Manager at Avalon Hills. Whitney began their career as a Research Associate at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, where they worked for four years. Prior to that, they served as the Chief of Staff at Torch Hill Investment Partners.

Whitney Matson completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics and Political Science from The University of Georgia from 1999 to 2002. Whitney then pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Economics at George Mason University from 2004 to 2006. In 2011, they obtained a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Recently, in 2020, they earned an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Central Wyoming College. Additionally, Whitney Matson holds certifications as a Registered Nurse (RN) from the Wyoming State Board of Nursing and as a Six Sigma Green Belt from Promontory Management Group, Inc., obtained in 2020 and 2014 respectively.

ABOUT: Located in Jackson, Wyoming, the hospital at St. John's Health was built in 1991 and has 108 beds: 48 Acute Care/Primary Care Unit beds and 60 long-term care beds. Nursing and technical specialties include: Medical/Surgical (PCU), Obstetrics, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Intensive Care, Long Term Care (the “Living Center”), Skilled Nursing Care, Operating Room, Recovery Room, Outpatient Surgery, Pharmacy, Emergency Room, Home Care & Hospice, Cancer Care & Infusion, Laboratory, Radiology, Respiratory Care, Rehabilitation, and Social Services. St. John’s Health also operates the following Physician Practices: Audiology & Hearing Aids; Cardiology; Child & Adolescent Psychiatry; Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy; Family Health; General Surgery; Internal Medicine; Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery; Urgent Care; and Urology. HISTORY: St. John’s Health was established in 1916 as part of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Although the hospital no longer has a direct affiliation with the church, it has retained the original name. In 1976, St. John’s became the Teton County Hospital District, and does business as St. John’s Health, with a publicly elected Board of Trustees. In the year 2019, St. John’s Hospital changed its name to St. John’s Health to better communicate our role in Jackson and the regional communities we serve.
