Matthew Watkins is an experienced environmental scientist and data quality assurance specialist with a strong background in aquatic sciences. Currently employed at St. Johns River Water Management District since November 2016, Matthew contributes to the Palatka field team by collecting water samples from various water bodies in northeast Florida. Prior to this role, Matthew worked at the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission from August 2005 to November 2016, serving as a fisheries biologist and principal investigator.
