Damon Young

Damon Young is a Trustee at St John's University. Damon was previously the Vice President of Provider Care Solutions at Optum from January 2018 to December 2021. Damon was responsible for aligning OptumHealth's clinical capabilities to support Market Performance Partnerships and OptumCare. Prior to that, they led the west region solution sales in efforts to help health systems and medical groups with strategies to scale resources with a goal of reaching, coordinating, triaging and managing the care of a broader population.

From January 2015 to December 2017, Damon Young was the Vice President of Business Development - Southwest at DaVita Medical Group. In this role, they partnered with the Southwest markets' leadership on strategies to grow operating income and EBITDA. Damon's focal areas were primary care acquisitions, affiliate provider growth, select specialty care acquisitions and joint ventures, and ACO/CIN development.

Damon Young graduated from the McDonogh School and went on to study sociology and health & medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where they earned their BA. Damon then pursued a master's degree in healthcare administration at the University of Minnesota.
