Kin-Man Lee

Kin-Man Lee is the current CFO and COO of SJC Content at St. Joseph Communications, Inc. Kin-Man has over 20 years of experience in various financial leadership roles.

Lee started their career as a management consultant with Postmedia Network Inc., where they worked on the Ontario Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit with the potential to save over $13 million. Kin-Man then became the Chief Financial Officer of Judge International, a startup company specializing in professional services, business process outsourcing and staffing for technology and engineering companies. During their time there, they were a strategic partner in raising over $6 million in private equity financing.

In 2009, Lee became the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Sun Media Corporation, a newspaper media company with $1.2 billion in revenues, 7,000 employees, and 320 business units. Kin-Man was responsible for finance, accounting, and strategic planning. Some key responsibilities included financial reporting (e.g. SEC filings, IFRS & Canadian GAAP), consolidation & performance management, tax, and information technology. Kin-Man also oversaw procurement, employee programs, real estate management, and accounting services.

During their time at Sun Media Corporation, Lee developed extensive experience in transfer pricing between Canada and the USA for 300+ business units. Kin-Man optimized tax and government incentive programs, implemented responsibility accounting measures, and benchmarked against best practices.

After completing high school, Kin-Man Lee attended the University of Waterloo where they obtained an Honours BMath Co-op in Math, Accounting, and Information Systems. Kin-Man then went on to become a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) through CPA Ontario and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
