Joseph Bick has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Starting in 1995, they served in the US Army as a Captain, holding various positions such as Commanding Officer, ICU head nurse, operations officer, and intelligence officer. Joseph received several awards, including the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Combat Action Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. After leaving the Army, Joseph worked as a Manager for Infection Control and Emergency Management at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center from 2009 to 2011. Joseph then joined St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center again in 2014, working as a Manager for Patient Flow and Emergency Management, Interim Director of Acute Care Coordination, and Associate. In 2017, they became a Manager at St. Joseph's Health, and in 2022, they took on the role of Regional Director of Emergency Management at Trinity Health of New York. In 2023, Joseph served as a Regional Director and Director of Clinical Operations at St. Joseph's Health and Councilor at the Town of Clay.

Joseph Bick obtained their associate's degree in Nursing from St. Elizabeth's College of Nursing between the years 1989 and 1991. Joseph then pursued a bachelor's degree in Nursing Science at SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome from 1994 to 1997. Later on, they completed their Master of Science degree in Nursing at Le Moyne College from 2006 to 2009. Additionally, they hold certifications in Certified Nurse Executive from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, obtained in 2020, and Certified Nurse Medical/Surgical Nurse, obtained in January 2005.
