Velmalia Matthews

Velmalia Matthews, MD completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in American History from Vanderbilt University in 1997. Velmalia then attended Eastern Virginia Medical School from 1999 to 2002, but the field of study is not specified. Following that, they earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama in 2004.

For their postgraduate education, Dr. Matthews completed the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama from 2004 to 2007. Later, they pursued a Fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine from 2007 to 2010.

Dr. Matthews obtained certification as a Diplomate in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2008. In 2012, they achieved certification as a Diplomate in Medical Oncology from the same institution.
