Adam Spector is a seasoned civil engineer with extensive experience in transportation planning and structural design. Currently serving as the North/West Area Engineer at the St. Louis County Department of Transportation since April 2018, Adam has also held the position of Project Manager III at St. Louis County Highways & Traffic since October 2006, focusing on transportation studies and concept planning. Previous roles include Senior Structural Engineer at Engineering Design Source, Inc., where Adam was responsible for structural designs, surveying, and construction inspection, as well as Project Engineer at URS, specializing in bridge design. Adam began their career as a HelpDesk Analyst at Alpine Engineered Products, providing software support and training. Adam holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bradley University.

With over 1 million residents, St. Louis County is the most populous county in Missouri. St. Louis County is home to more than 70 County-managed parks, three State parks, and a portion of a national fish and wildlife refuge. Education in St. Louis County is provided by 24 school districts, private schools, both a unified public library system and several municipal libraries, and several colleges and universities. St. Louis County government is divided between the executive branch governed by the St. Louis County Executive, and the legislative branch governed by the seven members of the St. Louis County Council. There are around 4,000 employees working for St. Louis County government. The current county executive is Dr. Sam Page, who was inaugurated on April 29, 2019.
