Rodney Crim has a diverse and extensive work experience. Rodney most recently served as the CEO and President of the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership from December 2019 to the present. Prior to this position, they held the role of Interim CEO and President from January 2019 to December 2019. In this role, they were responsible for retaining, expanding, and attracting businesses to the St. Louis region.
Before their time at the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, Crim was the President of the organization from August 2013 to December 2018, where they provided executive leadership and worked with various stakeholders to achieve regional objectives in business development, international trade, real estate development, and talent alignment.
Rodney'searlier experience includes serving as the Executive Director of the St. Louis Development Corporation from July 2002 to June 2013, where they represented the city as the chief economic development official and managed the organization's administrative and financial aspects.
Crim also worked as the President and CEO of the Shorebank Neighborhood Institute from 1997 to 2001, and as the Chief Financial Officer of Microtron from 1992 to 1996. Rodney began their career at American Express Financial Advisors in various roles, including Director and Controller, Assistant Controller, and Accounting Manager, from 1982 to 1992. Overall, Crim has a strong background in economic development and leadership roles within various organizations.
Rodney Crim has a Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) with a specialization in Accounting and Business Management from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management. Additionally, they hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Management (New Venture Management) from the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business.
In terms of certifications, Rodney Crim has obtained the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification from the International Economic Development Council and the Certified Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) certification from the National Development Council. Rodney is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), although their CPA status is currently inactive, certified by the Minnesota Board of Accountancy. Furthermore, they have completed professional development in Executives in State and Local Government from Harvard University Kennedy School.
