Alexander Garza

Alexander Garza serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Missouri Foundation for Health and the St. Louis Integrated Health Network, focusing on health equity and access to care for the medically underserved. As Chief Community Health Officer at SSM Health since September 2016, Alexander directs initiatives addressing Social Determinants of Health while overseeing quality and medical affairs across the organization. Additional roles include Colonel and Command Surgeon in the US Army Reserves, advisory board member for St. Louis County, and a past Incident Commander for the St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force during the COVID-19 pandemic. Alexander's educational background includes degrees in medicine, public health, and emergency medical services, along with teaching roles in epidemiology and emergency management at Saint Louis University.
