Silvy Un Lafayette, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations and roles. Currently, they are the Director of Assessment, Research, and Evaluation at St. Louis Park Public Schools since 2019. Before this, they worked at Saint Paul Public Schools as an Administrator in Leadership Development from October 2014 onwards. Silvy also served as an Administrative (Principal) Intern at the same organization from June 2013 to October 2014, and from August 2012 to June 2013. Prior to that, Silvy worked as an Assistant Principal at Brooklyn Center School Dist from July 2017 to July 2019. Silvy also contributed to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities as the Assistant Director of the Multicultural Summer Research Opportunities Program (MSROP) from 2010 to 2012. Silvy worked as a Math Interventionist / Math Coach at North Miami Senior High School from 2010 to 2011. Furthermore, Silvy served as an Elementary Education Supervisor / Instructor at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities from 2007 to 2009. Lastly, they began their career as a Middle School Math Teacher at Revere Public Schools and the Steppingstone Academy from 2005 to 2008.

Silvy Un Lafayette, Ph.D. has an extensive education history. In 1998, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology at the University of Notre Dame. Following this, from 2004 to 2005, they pursued a Master of Education degree with a concentration in Urban Education at Boston College. Continuing their academic journey, they joined the University of Minnesota and obtained their Ph.D. in Education: Curriculum & Instruction in 2013. Later, from 2012 to 2015, they pursued K-12 Administrative / Principal Licensure at the University of Minnesota.
