Marie-Hélène Bernard

President & CEO at St. Louis Symphony Orchestra

Marie-Hélène Bernard is the current President and CEO of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Marie-Hélène has held this position since June of 2015. Prior to their current position, Ms. Bernard served as the Executive Director and CEO of the Handel and Haydn Society from April 2007 to June 2015. Ms. Bernard has also served as the President and CEO of the Canton Symphony Orchestra from August 2005 to April 2007, and as an Orchestra Management Fellow with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra from August 1996 to December 1996.

Ms. Bernard began their career as a corporate and tax attorney with Gariepy, Marcoux, Richard, Dubois from September 1991 to August 1996. Marie-Hélène then transitioned into orchestra management, serving as an Orchestra Manager with The Cleveland Orchestra from August 2000 to August 2005, and as an Orchestra Management Fellow with the Minnesota Orchestra from May 1997 to August 1997. From January 1997 to December 2000, Ms. Bernard served as a Project/Orchestra Manager with the Philadelphia Orchestra Association. Marie-Hélène then served as an Orchestra Management Fellow with the New York Philharmonic from December 1996 to May 1997.

Marie-Hélène Bernard's educational career includes a Bachelor of Laws from Université de Montréal, a Diploma in Arts Administration from Concordia University, and a Minor in Political Science from Université de Montréal.
