James Roe

James Roe is the President & Executive Director at Orchestra of St. Luke's. James has held this position since October 2015. Prior to that, they were the President and CEO of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra from July 2013 to October 2015. Roe began their career as a freelance musician in January 1996 and has since played with the American Composers Orchestra, American Ballet Theater, American Symphony Orchestra, Houston Grand Opera, Little Orchestra Society, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, New York City Ballet Orchestra, New York Opera Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, The Knights, and Zephyros Winds. James also served as the Executive and Artistic Director of The Helicon Foundation, Inc. from January 1996 to June 2013. Roe's most recent position prior to their current one was Assistant Concert Director at Trinity Wall Street from January 1994 to December 1995.

James Roe attended the Juilliard School for both their professional studies and their masters in music, both times studying the oboe. James completed their undergraduate degree at Michigan State University, also studying the oboe.
