David Hautanen

VP for Enrollment Management at St Mary's College of Maryland

David Hautanen is the Vice President for Enrollment Management at St Mary's College of Maryland. David has over fifteen years of experience in enrollment management and higher education administration. Prior to their current position, they served as the Vice President for Enrollment and Retention at Merrimack College, a non-profit, regional Augustinian Catholic college located north of Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, they provided leadership and vision for the development, implementation and assessment of a comprehensive strategic enrollment plan designed to meet the institutions undergraduate and graduate enrollment and retention goals. David also served as the Director, International Recruitment and Strategic Enrollment Initiatives at Northeastern University from January 2002 to December 2012. In this role, they were responsible for the development and implementation of Northeastern’s international recruitment strategy and oversaw all aspects of the university’s international student enrollment.

David Hautanen has a BBA from University of Massachusetts Amherst in Business and an M.Ed. in Organizational Development from University of Massachusetts Amherst.

David Hautanen reports to Tuajuanda C. Jordan, President. Some individuals on their team include Kathy Pusecker - Executive Director of Enrollment for Student Success, Bhargavi Bandi - Director of Enrollment Operations, and Beverly Read - Executive Assistant.
