Amanda Lou Newton, LCSW, has extensive experience in palliative care and hospice services, currently serving as a Palliative Care Social Worker at St. Mary's Health Care System since September 2019, where Amanda is involved in implementing a community-based palliative care program. Previously, Amanda held the position of Social Services Team Leader at Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, overseeing service delivery and providing support for hospice patients and families from May 2017 to September 2019. Prior roles include director of the Home Based Palliative Care Program and Bereavement Coordinator at Compassionate Care Hospice, and Bereavement Coordinator and Director of Grief Camp at Gentiva Hospice, where Amanda facilitated grief support services and managed various programs. Amanda's career began as a Medical Social Worker at Piedmont Athens Regional, focusing on psychosocial assessments and interdisciplinary care. Amanda earned a Master of Social Work from The University of Georgia.
