Richard Solomon

Chief Financial Officer at ST MARY'S UNIVERSITY, TWICKENHAM

As Chief Financial Officer, Richard leads on all aspects of finance including business partnering, strategic planning, risk management and internal audit. He is also responsible for the University’s Enterprise and Development activities including Short Courses, Conferences and the Exchange.

After reading economics at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, Richard started his career as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte in London. As Audit Director, he handled the accounts of numerous international banks before moving to Ernst & Young as a financial services audit and advisory Partner. Prior to joining St Mary’s, Richard’s tenure as Chief Accountant at RBS (now Nat West Group) spanned a period of intense regulatory, commercial and structural change in the aftermath of the financial crisis.

Richard is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, where he chairs the Bond & Fixed Interest examinations panel. He is also a Trustee and Hon. Treasurer of Providence Row, a Catholic charity serving the destitute and homeless in London’s East End.
