Joel Lauer

Joel Lauer has been working in university advancement for over six years. Joel started as the Executive Director of Law School Advancement at St. Mary's University in August 2014. In this role, they were responsible for securing major gifts and planned gifts for the law school, as well as working closely with the law school alumni office to ensure a successful moves management program. In November 2018, they were promoted to Assistant Vice President for Development, and then in June 2020, they became the Interim Vice President For University Advancement. Joel is currently in this role at St. Mary's University.

Joel Lauer graduated with a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Joel also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Political Science from Washburn University.

They work with Tim Bessler - VP, Student Development & Dean, Students, Dianne Pipes - Chief of Staff & Executive Director, University Communications, and Aaron Hanna - VP, Administration & Finance. Their manager is Thomas M. Mengler, President.
