Niall Kelly is a Senior Photonic Engineer with extensive experience in the design, fabrication, and characterization of semiconductor optoelectronic materials, devices, and integrated circuits. Currently serving as a Photonic System Architect at STMicroelectronics since 2024, Niall previously held a similar role at TNO, focusing on advancing photonic technologies for industrial applications. Niall's past experience includes working as a PIC Design Engineer at EFFECT Photonics, where they oversaw the development of coherent transceiver PICs, and as a Post Doctoral Researcher at Technical University Eindhoven, contributing to the industrialization of the Indium-Phosphide Membrane on Silicon platform. Niall holds a Ph.D. in Integrated Photonics and a research M.Sc. in Semiconductor Optoelectronic Device Fabrication from Tyndall National Institute, UCC, as well as a B.Sc. in Applied Physics from the University of Limerick.
