John Durney

John Durney is a seasoned educator and administrator, holding the title of Professor Emeritus of Communications at St. Thomas Aquinas College, where tenure spans several decades since 1984. Durney has served in multiple senior leadership positions, including Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, overseeing a broad range of academic programs and faculty management, as well as Senior Vice President and Vice President for Institutional Advancement, responsible for external relations and development initiatives. Durney also played a pivotal role in establishing the Office of College and Community Relations. In addition to this extensive career in academia, Durney has contributed to the Chatham Marconi Maritime Center as a board member and chair of the Board Development Committee, focusing on the preservation of maritime communication history. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Doctor of Humane Letters from St. Thomas Aquinas College.
