Craig Smith

Craig Smith has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Craig has held positions such as Director at Chula Vista Sunrise Rotary Club since 2023, President at St. Timothy Lutheran Church since 2022, and Board of Trustees Member at United States Naval Academy Alumni Association (USNAAA) since 2021. Additionally, Craig has served as a Council Member at the USNA Council for Annual Giving since 2019 and as an Associate Program Manager III at the Southern California & Northern California Combined Federal Campaign (SoCal & NorCal CFC) from 2013 to 2023. Craig has also been involved with the USNAAA San Diego Chapter, where they served as Immediate Past President, President, Vice President, & Director from 2012 to 2023. Furthermore, Craig has experience as a Blue & Gold Officer at the USNA Candidate Guidance Office from 2012 to 2017, Chief Operating Officer at the International Bipolar Foundation in 2014, Captain in the U.S. Navy from 1982 to 2012, and Regional Director at the USO from 2009 to 2011.

Craig Smith attended Downey High School from 1974 to 1978, where they obtained their High School Diploma with a focus on College Prep. Following their high school education, Craig enrolled at the United States Naval Academy from 1978 to 1982, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).

In 1985, Craig pursued further education at the Southwestern Community College District, studying Business & Customer Service Courses. Craig continued their academic journey at the San Diego State University from 1989 to 1995, although no specific degree was mentioned, focusing on the MBA Management Program Studies.

Craig also participated in various certification programs. In 2005, they became a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) through CFRE International. Additionally, they obtained the title of Navy JROTC Program Senior Naval Science Instructor from the Department of the Navy, Naval Service Training Command in 2014.

Furthermore, Craig engaged in professional development by attending the National Planned Giving Institute at William & Mary. Craig also received a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Brandman University.
