Stephen Parnis

Stephen Parnis is a highly experienced medical professional holding the position of Clinical Fellow at the Plunkett Centre for Ethics within Australian Catholic University since December 2024. Currently serving as Director at Hearing Australia and MIGA - Medical Insurance Group Australia, Stephen has also been a Consultant Emergency Physician at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne since 2017 and 2009, respectively. In addition to an extensive clinical career, Stephen has contributed to the field of emergency medicine as a Senior Instructor in Emergency Management of Severe Trauma since 2009. Previous roles include Consultant Emergency Physician at Mercy Health Australia and John Fawkner Private Hospital, as well as leadership positions within the Australian Medical Association, including Vice President and Federal Councillor. Stephen's education includes a Fellowship from the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Melbourne.
