Dr. Balaji Muthusubramanian

Dr. Balaji Muthusubramanian has a diverse work experience starting from 2011. Dr. Balaji worked as a Project Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras from June 2011 to June 2012. Dr. Balaji then pursued their PhD at the University of Cologne from November 2014 to February 2018, focusing on high-resolution data of young stars and developing a data reduction pipeline software. After completing their PhD, they worked as a Data Scientist at StepStone from June 2018 to December 2018, and then at Talents Connect from March 2019 to December 2019. Alongside their data science roles, Dr. Muthusubramanian co-founded several companies such as Skill-Ex in October 2020, where they were involved in building the next generation career planner and Ed-Tech Aggregator. Dr. Balaji co-founded 4pi Astronomics in December 2019, where they worked on building a commercial astronomy start-up focused on developing an advanced telescope and a community of amateur and professional astronomers. Currently, they are the Co-founder (CTO) of SkillDao Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Workbucks), starting from July 2022, where they are actively involved in building a new model of upskilling the community. In addition, Dr. Muthusubramanian is the Head of Data Practice at StackNexus Inc., starting from February 2022. Overall, they have accumulated a wide range of experience in data science, astronomy, and entrepreneurial ventures.

Dr. Balaji Muthusubramanian completed their education with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Madras. Dr. Balaji then pursued a Master of Science in Astronomy from the University of Groningen. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Astrophysics from the University of Cologne.
