Paul Van Miert

Paul Van Miert currently serves as Burgemeester of Stad Turnhout since January 2019, overseeing city-level policies including public safety and community affairs. In addition, Paul has been a Vlaams volksvertegenwoordiger in the Vlaams Parlement since 2014, focusing on local governance, equal opportunities, and integration. Previous experience includes holding positions as Prokurist and Vertriebsleiter at Miko-Hordijk GmBH from 2000 to 2015, and Schepen of the Gemeente Oud-Turnhout from 2007 to 2012, where responsibilities included finance, local economy, and education. Paul also worked as Sales Manager for Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics and Account Manager for International Tyre Company earlier in the career. Paul holds a Bachelor's degree from Hoger Instituut der Kempen.
