Diana's career began at Stadt Augsburg, where a tenure as Sachbearbeiterin at the Sozialamt took place from August 1993 to September 2001. Educational qualifications include a Dipl. Verwaltungswirtin (FH) from Fachhochschule für öffentliche Verwaltung in Hof, completed in 2004, and a degree in Verwaltungswirtin from the City of Augsburg obtained between 1991 and 1993.
