Dirk Schuhmann is the current Leiter Presse und Kommunikation der Stadt Mannheim, a role they hold after serving as Pressereferent des Ersten Bürgermeisters from 2009 to 2015. Prior to this, Schuhmann worked at Universitätsmedizin Mannheim as Leiter Unternehmenskommunikation und Marketing from 2015 to 2023, and in various communications roles at ICW, BASF, and Mannheimer Versicherung AG from 1999 to 2009. They hold a Diplom-Kaufmann in Betriebswirtschaftslehre from Universität Mannheim and a Master of Science in Communications Management from USI Università della Svizzera italiana. Additionally, Schuhmann participated in an ERASMUS/LINGUA program at Trinity College Dublin.
